Rachel Barry, lcsw
Rachel is a licensed clinical social worker who provides therapy to individuals who are searching for an increased sense of emotional well-being and inner peace. She firmly believes that we all hold the answers within ourselves, but that we sometimes just need a little help accessing our own truth. Rachel utilizes strengths-based interventions, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy in her work with clients.
She has a strong background working with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and trauma. She is also very passionate about collaborating with psychiatrists to treat individuals who suffer from bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and unspecified psychotic disorders. Rachel believes in the importance of using proper assessment tools for identifying areas of struggle, and she considers it an honor to be able to witness the growth and healing that takes place within individuals through the therapy process.
Rachel earned both her Bachelors degree in Psychology and Masters in Social Work from Kennesaw State University. She began her career as a therapist in the hospital setting and has worked at several treatment centers in the Atlanta area, including Ridgeview Institute, Alana Recovery, and Caron Solutions. Now in private practice, she has the great pleasure of serving clients at WholeHeart Psychotherapy.
