Melanie McDonald, at WholeHeart Psychotherapy

Melanie is deeply passionate about helping individuals and couples enhance their communication and vulnerability. She believes that when partners feel safe enough to take emotional risks, it strengthens both their emotional and sexual intimacy. Melanie works inclusively with heterosexual and LGBTQ+ clients, as well as those in the kink, polyamorous/non-monogamous, and vanilla communities.

In her therapeutic practice, Melanie blends various methodologies, including Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and is soon adding Dialectal Behavioral Training (DBT) to her toolkit. She fosters an environment of comfort, respect, and trust, which she views as essential to any successful therapeutic relationship.

Currently an intern at Wholeheart, Melanie is completing her Master of Social Work at the University of Georgia. Her next goal is to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a certified AASECT therapist. She is fortunate to be under the clinical supervision of Tara Arnold, PhD, LCSW, CEDS-C, RYT-200, during this stage of her professional development.
