Carolyn is a compassionate, open and welcoming therapist who thrives on working with individuals who wish to live their lives more fully.
Carolyn has a passion for learning and expanding her ability to further help her clients. She is a practitioner of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, where she helps clients cope with the challenges of their experiences while also guiding them to live their lives in a values-congruent way. She approaches each client with an open mind, seeking to better understand each person’s life experiences.
Whether you are dealing with ongoing anxiety and depression, substance use, family-building challenges, or simply want to cope with the stressors of daily living, Carolyn is ready with an open mind to help work through your struggles.
Carolyn received her Bachelor’s degree from Emory University in 2006. After many years working in the nonprofit sector, she wished to further her impact in the health and human services field by switching careers and becoming a professional counselor.
Carolyn received her Master’s in Science from Georgia State University, where she graduated from the Clinical Rehabilitation Program. She is credentialed as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and National Certified Counselor (NCC).
During her training, Carolyn spent significant time working with individuals in the LGBTQ community at Positive Impact Health Centers in Decatur, Georgia. In addition to assisting those with relationship issues, anxiety, and depression, Carolyn also worked with individuals affected by HIV/AIDS and addiction.
Carolyn involves her clients in their therapeutic planning knowing that individual’s involvement in their treatment will lead to more successful outcomes.
