Nutrition Counseling

How Can Nutrition Counseling Help Me?

As registered dietitians, we look to help build realistic and sustainable relationships with food + body. With our backgrounds in topics like physiology, chemistry and biology – we use science to help educate our client’s on how the body utilizes food and the effects of not nourishing the body adequately. Within the world of eating disorders, nutrition therapy plays a key role in building a positive relationship with food + body. Dietitians use science, motivational interviewing and therapeutic skills to help clients understand the importance of fueling the body while also digging into the mental and emotional aspects that arise in eating disorders.

At WholeHeart, we see client’s for general nutritional guidance as well as eating disorder informed nutrition therapy sessions with a HAES (Health at Every Size) mindset.  Our well- rounded nutritionists have worked in various dietetic settings such as inpatient medical hospitals, mental health facilities, inpatient eating disorder treatment centers, dialysis treatment centers, etc.  There are various structured or flexible services available from WholeHeart dieticians such as; general meal planning, athletic endurance nutrition planning, eating disorder treatment meal planning, nutrition coaching, nutrition exposure activities including- grocery store exposure sessions, meal exposure sessions, public meal exposure sessions, etc.  Reach out and discuss your needs with us!

Whole Heart Psychotherapy is an incredible practice of knowledgeable, compassionate, and ethical clinicians. As a therapist myself, it is important to establish relationships with other groups for networking, consultation, and collaborative purposes. I truly appreciate that I can trust the clinicians of Whole Heart to provide effective treatment to clients that I refer to their services. I also am grateful for the professional consultation and collaboration that is provided when working with shared cases or when seeking feedback. Whole Heart and its staff are always on my list of providers for outside referrals.

As a therapist, I feel very fortunate to have WholeHeart Psychotherapy as a resource. I have never once hesitated to refer to the practice, and have heard nothing but positive feedback from those I have referred. I have personally participated in professional consultation and DBT groups at Wholeheart over the the years, and can't speak highly enough of the experience.
