Jolia Alexander provides therapy services for all-gender adult individuals, couples, and families. She uses an integrative approach and various therapeutic modalities to best serve her clients. Jolia specializes in Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help clients recognize the power they have to create a new, more accurate perspective when the current one no longer serves them.
Jolia utilizes inner-child work and attachment styles to help individual clients and families understand how they develop and embody perspectives that influence the way they manage circumstances. In her work with couples, Jolia’s approach is enriched by her training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Levels 1 & 2), allowing her to guide partners towards deeper connection and understanding. She utilizes sex therapy techniques to support couples in rebuilding their intimacy after experiencing mistrust, as well as support individuals in reclaiming their sexuality by overcoming unhelpful beliefs that limit their exploration and self-confidence.
Additionally, Jolia is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP); a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP); a Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy Professional (CDBT); and a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional (CSTIP). With this extensive training and expertise, Jolia is dedicated to empowering her clients to navigate life’s challenges and cultivate a fulfilling relationship with themselves and others. Jolia offers every client a supportive space and a hands-on approach where they can feel safe to express their deepest thoughts and feelings. She creates a collaborative relationship using activities and techniques personally tailored to support and overcome every unique circumstance so clients can achieve their goals.
Jolia is currently supervised by Erika Pluhar, PhD, EdS, LMFT, LPC, CST-S at WholeHeart Psychotherapy for the Sexual Health Alliance Program.
I live by the motto inspired by Jhene’ Aiko, “Triggered but not Broken”, because it reminds me that life will not always be cruise sailing, but the circumstances will never break me as long as I choose to carry on.
A fun fact about me is that my name was featured on a Missing Poster in a Stranger Things episode. During my downtime I can be found participating in a HIIT class, playing laser tag, or watching anime or thrillers while relaxing with my dog, Bliss.
Therapy options are available depending on the provider / therapist selected.
WholeHeart Psychotherapy represents a group of collaborative treatment professionals. However, each provider is an independent contractor. Note that this communication, in and of itself, is for informational purposes only and does not constitute a client-therapist relationship until a written agreement is made.
