Laycee Claes, MS, RD, LD
Laycee became interested in working with individuals with eating disorders when she was in high school. Thus began her research in body image and the media, how the media targets their audience, and the various different eating disorders seen in treatment.
Laycee grew up in northeast Ohio and attended Kent State University for her Bachelor’s degree, where her research continued with a deep dive into ARFID and researching the dietitian’s role in eating disorders.
She then had the opportunity to move south when she was accepted for a combined Master’s/Internship program at Augusta University in Augusta, GA. This program allowed Laycee to work with all age groups and various health conditions in an acute care setting.
After graduating her Master’s program and internship, Laycee accepted a position in long-term care in Atlanta, GA. It was in this position that Laycee built her skills and confidence as a dietitian. She worked with an interdisciplinary team to ensure the residents had the best possible care.
Eventually, Laycee found a job opportunity at Veritas Collaborative working at the highest level of care with adolescent and young adult patients working to recover from their eating disorders. She works to provide individualized nutrition therapy with a Health at Every Size + Intuitive Eating aligned approach. Laycee’s ultimate goal is to provide clients with the knowledge and confidence to rediscover who they are outside of their eating disorder.
