Mary Clark, BS - Provider at WholeHeart Psychotherapy

Mary Clark is an Atlanta-based graduate student at the University of Georgia. Mary received her Bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of South Carolina in 2017. In May 2024, she will graduate with a Masters in Social Work from UGA.

Mary has experience working with youth who are homeless and have issues navigating gender identity. Mary believes in the inherent strengths and capabilities of each individual. She leverages a strength-based approach with her clients, placing an importance on holistic, person-centered care.

By adopting a strength-based approach, Mary focuses on identifying and building upon their clients’ existing resources and coping mechanisms. This empowering methodology helps clients recognize their resilience and potential to overcome challenges, ultimately promoting positive growth and personal development. Mary also provides supportive and affirming care to queer, trans, and gender-expansive clients.

Mary is currently in graduate school and works under the supervision of Tara Arnold, Ph.D., LCSW, CEDS-S, RYT-200.

Pronouns | she, her, hers

In her free time, Mary enjoys long walks with her partner, and their two Boxers, Georgia and Curry. She also loves iced lavender lattes (even in the winter!), and trying out new workout classes in the Atlanta area.

Whole Heart Psychotherapy is an incredible practice of knowledgeable, compassionate, and ethical clinicians. As a therapist myself, it is important to establish relationships with other groups for networking, consultation, and collaborative purposes. I truly appreciate that I can trust the clinicians of Whole Heart to provide effective treatment to clients that I refer to their services. I also am grateful for the professional consultation and collaboration that is provided when working with shared cases or when seeking feedback. Whole Heart and its staff are always on my list of providers for outside referrals.

As a therapist, I feel very fortunate to have WholeHeart Psychotherapy as a resource. I have never once hesitated to refer to the practice, and have heard nothing but positive feedback from those I have referred. I have personally participated in professional consultation and DBT groups at Wholeheart over the the years, and can't speak highly enough of the experience.
