Meet Your Next Therapy Provider:
Ru Johanson-Murray
Ru Johanson-Murray, MS, NCC, & APC
Ru is a Nationally Certified Counselor who received their Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and their Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Georgia State University in 2023. Ru has a passion for working with individuals from marginalized backgrounds, specifically the LGBTQ+ community and racial/ethnic minorities, whose identities have shaped the way they experience and navigate the world, along with their mental health needs.
As a person of color and a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Ru draws from systems theories in order to better understand the context of their client’s lived experiences and their identities. Ru’s therapeutic approach is holistic in that they integrate physiological experiences and psychoeducation into their work with clients to help them find balance and feel empowered in their lives. Ru’s therapeutic style is compassionate, authentic, validating yet firm, and is built on collaboration between themselves and their clients. Ru strives to create an accepting and safe space for clients to identify strengths, process their lived experiences, and navigate overwhelming emotions using a trauma-informed perspective.
Ru is currently under the direct supervision of Dr. Erika Pluhar and is working to get their certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy and Sex Therapy for couples and individuals who identify with consensual non-monogamous relationships and other relationship minorities.

CEU Workshops
Workshops are longer sessions designed to help deliver a large amount of content in a short period of time. Oftentimes, workshops can last hours to days and are provided in a group format to deliver an intervention in a detailed and often experiential way.
